Trumbull Community Action Program

Trumbull Community Action Program

Parent Committees and Parent Policy Council

We partner with parents and guardians to ensure that your voice is heard so that our program best meets your family’s needs. Learn the many ways that you can participate and provide your input for the direction and monitoring of our program.

Parent Committee
Each center conducts monthly Parent Committee Meetings that every parent/guardian of currently enrolled students are encouraged to attend. Members discuss their recommendations for staff in developing and implementing local program policies, activities, and services to ensure they meet the needs of children and families. Parents receive communications from the Parent Policy Council.

Parent Policy Council
Each Parent Committee nominates and elects a representative to the Parent Policy Council (PPC). PPC is an official governing body of the program that is responsible for assisting to determine the direction of the Head Start Program for our agency. The PPC uses ongoing monitoring results, data on school readiness goals, other information to issue recommendations and to vote to approve various program actions throughout the year. PPC members participate in the program’s annual Self-Assessment, which is then used for program planning and performance improvement.
